We are a mixture of Rock n Roll, Gothic Rock and US and UK Punk Rock. Our music is fun and joyful and celebrates the principles of rock n roll of fast music, living life to the full, and the idea that the music is basically The Devil’s Music and that is A-OK with us! Also, if our music does not make you want to dance, you have something wrong with you!
Who’s in the band?
Trevor Bamford – Vocals, guitar, programming
Scarlet Moonchild Bamford – Vocals
How long has the band been going?
As a live performing entity, for about two years.
How did the band form? Can you give a brief history of the band for people who don’t know?
I (Trev) formed the band originally as a side project to reflect my other set of influences that include: The Gun Club, The Cramps, Roky Erikson, Early Nephilim, Johnny Cash, Captain Beefheart. As a result of conversations with my then wife to be Scarlet. The whole focus of the lyrics and ideas are a mixture of our own views on the world and are bound up in our own relationship. But that in it’s self makes the music more universal.
After a number of digital only releases that initially featured just myself. I decided to more directly include musical contributions from Scarlet. We played the results to friends who convinced us that not only was our stuff good, but we HAD to start playing live. So about two years ago we started with the band in earnest and we are progressing from strength to strength.
What are you working on at the moment?
We are always working on new songs and at the moment planning a series of digital singles to be released during the year cumulating with a mini CD and digital album compendium of all the singles released during the year plus bonus mixes and rare tracks. We call this project “Hellfire Rock’n’Roll” and so far we have had two volumes out with volume 3 scheduled for winter 2017.
