Don’t just get new fans at gigs – keep them!
I talk a lot about your email list, because it’s a crucial part of marketing your music – for many reasons I cover in other posts, articles and courses.
There are numerous ways to entice people to sign up to your list online, but don’t forget about collecting emails at your gigs.
Here’s one idea for how…
Where feasible, either at your merchandise table, or just hanging around, have at least one person there all the time before, during and after the event – to personally sell the benefits of being on your mailing list… (the freebie/offer they get immediately and/or what they get by being on the list). The person or people can have a clipboard, or tablet with a signup web page/form ready to take names and email addresses.
The person or people collecting emails could be made to stand out from the crowd (example: wearing a tall red home-made hat… wearing lingerie… or whatever suits your act’s brand).
Maybe have an immediate incentive, such as a unique to that gig/tour sticker or badge… Be inventive, and remember how important it is to build that list!
From the stage, tell people to look for the ‘strange person in the tall red hat’ to make sure they get whatever you’re offering.
